São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Melipilla is a city in the Santiago Metropolitan Region of Chile, located about 120 kilometers southwest of the capital Santiago, and is the capital of Santiago Province. The city is known for its fertile land and long agricultural tradition, and is an important wine, fruit and cereal producing region in Chile, with a particular national and international reputation for the quality of its wines. Surrounded by the magnificent Andes and the Coastal Range, Melipia is rich in natural resources and offers an ideal place for outdoor activities such as hiking and bird watching. In addition, the area retains a strong Chilean cultural identity, with colonial architecture and traditional festivals attracting visitors. As a hub connecting Santiago to the central coast of Chile, Melipia is an excellent destination for experiencing central Chile, combining the tranquility of the countryside with the dynamism of the region's development.
