São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Malimba is the capital of Moxico Province in Angola, located in the eastern border region of the country, neighboring Zambia. The city is situated on the Angolan plateau at an altitude of about 1,100 meters above sea level and has a savannah climate with distinct wet and dry seasons.
Malimba suffered severe damage during the Angolan Civil War (1975-2002) and has gradually recovered in recent years. As the center of an agricultural region, the local economy is based on the cultivation of crops such as maize and cassava, while cross-border trade is developed based on the location of the border.
The population is predominantly of the Ovindu ethnic group, which retains a culture of traditional music and dance. The city is connected to the Angolan interior by the EN250 highway, but the infrastructure is still weak, typical of developing regions in Angola.
