São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in southwestern Ontario, Canada, about 100 kilometers west of Toronto, Kitchener is one of the core cities of the "Technology Triangle" (Technology Triangle), neighboring Waterloo and Cambridge, with a population of about 270,000 (2023). The city is known for its technology industry, with many innovative companies and research and development centers, and works closely with the University of Waterloo to form "Canada's Silicon Valley". At the same time, Kitchener retains a strong German cultural heritage, and the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest, held every October, is one of the largest German folk festivals in North America, attracting visitors from around the world. The city's livable environment, parks and green spaces, and lower cost of living than Toronto make it an ideal place to work and live, combining modern urban vitality with traditional humanistic charm.
