Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.

Introduction to Jiuru Township, Taiwan, China

Jiuru Township is located in the northwestern part of Pingtung County, Taiwan Province of China, in the alluvial plain on the west side of Gaoping Creek, which is a typical agricultural township. The township covers an area of about 42 square kilometers and has a population of about 23,000, with a predominantly southern Fujianese population. The name of the township originated from "Nine Block Alley" Zhuang in the Qing Dynasty, and was renamed Jiuru Township in 1946.

Geography and Industrial Characteristics

Jiuru Township has flat terrain and abundant water resources, and its main agricultural products include lemons, bananas, lotus flowers, and other cash crops, with lemon production ranking among the highest in Taiwan, earning it the reputation as the "Township of Lemons". The first lemon themed sightseeing factory was built in the township, which promotes the development of agricultural leisure tourism.
