São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Huxian County (now known as Shuangyi District) is located in the southwestern part of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, China, and is one of the municipal districts of Xi'an City. It is located in the middle of Guanzhong Plain, with the Qinling Mountains to the south and the Weihe River to the north, covering a total area of 1,282 square kilometers and a population of about 600,000 people. Tuxian County has a long history, with human activities as early as the Neolithic Age, and the county was set up during the Qin Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,200 years of establishment to date.
The region is known for its agriculture and tourism, and is the "Hometown of Chinese Peasant Paintings", with Tuxian Peasant Paintings renowned both at home and abroad. The economy is dominated by modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing and cultural tourism, with a 2022 GDP of 30 billion yuan. Famous attractions include the Vermilion Bird National Forest Park, the Taiping National Forest Park and the Caotang Temple, which is the ancestral home of the Sanlun Sect of Buddhism.
With convenient transportation, Tuxian is 50 kilometers away from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, and several expressways and railroads run through the whole area. As an important part of Xi'an National Center City, Tuxian is actively promoting the integrated development of urban and rural areas to become an important node area of the Guanzhong Plain City Cluster.
