Located in the central part of Yunlin County, Taiwan Province of China, Huwei is one of the important administrative, economic and cultural centers of the county. Geographically, it is in the northern part of the Chia Nan Plain, with a subtropical monsoon climate and mild seasons. The population of about 70,000 is dominated by residents of Minnan descent, with Minnan as the common language.
Huwei is famous for its history in the sugar industry, and was once the main town of Taiwan's sugar industry during the Japanese rule; the Huwei Sugar Factory is still in operation today. Attractions include historical buildings such as the Huwei Iron Bridge, the Yunlin Budai Opera House and the Contract Hall House, as well as the Huwei Centralized Cultural and Creative Park, which has been built in recent years. The annual Taiwan International Coffee Festival and Yunlin Agricultural Expo attract a large number of tourists.
In terms of transportation, it is connected to major cities in Taiwan via the high-speed rail Yunlin Station (about 15 minutes' drive from Huwei) and the Taiwan 78 Expressway. The economy is based on agriculture (garlic, peanuts), food processing and the emerging tourism industry.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
