Hunnan District, located in the south of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, is the core carrying area of Shenyang National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Shenyang Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, and is known as the "South Gate" and innovation engine of Shenyang. As China's first municipal district named "Hunnan" in 2013, the area is home to strategic emerging industries such as intelligent manufacturing, information technology, and biomedicine, and a number of leading enterprises such as Neusoft and Xinsong Robotics, making it an important growth pole for the revitalization of the Northeast's old industrial bases.
