Huangping County is located in the southeastern part of Guizhou Province, China, under the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, and is situated in the remnants of the Miao Mountain Range, which is famous for its multi-ethnic culture and natural scenery. The county covers an area of 1,668 square kilometers and has a population of about 380,000, with more than 60% of the population being Miao, preserving a rich variety of traditional Miao customs, costumes and festivals.

Natural and Humanistic Characteristics

Huangping has a humid subtropical climate, with over 50% forest coverage, and natural landscapes such as Flying Cloud Cliff and Wild Cave River. The history can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty, and the Old Town of Laozhou is one of the top ten ancient towns in Guizhou, blending Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture with Miao and Dong flavors. Intangible cultural heritages include the ancient songs of the Miao people, batik techniques and festivals such as the "September Lusheng Festival".

Economy and Tourism

The economy is based on agriculture, growing rice and Chinese herbs, with ecotourism developing rapidly in recent years.
