Located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, Hongyuan County is situated on the southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, with an average elevation of about 3,500 meters above sea level, making it an important ecological barrier and tourist destination on the Northwest Sichuan Plateau.
