Helvetia is a small unincorporated community of less than 100 people in Randolph County, West Virginia, United States, located in the Allegheny Mountains. Founded in 1869 by Swiss and German immigrants, the community's name is derived from the Latin term for Switzerland, "Helvetia," reflecting its deep European cultural heritage. Known for its unique traditions, annual festivals and well-preserved 19th-century architecture, Helvetia is a popular destination for experiencing Swiss-German folklore and village life.
The community hosts the famous annual "Fasnacht" spring festival, which includes a masked parade, traditional dances and Swiss cuisine and attracts many visitors.
