Haojiang is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Shantou, Guangdong Province, China, located on the eastern coast of Guangdong and the southern tip of the Han River Delta, adjacent to the South China Sea, with a total area of about 134 square kilometers. The district gets its name from the Haojiang River, which runs through the area, and is an important part of the Shantou Special Economic Zone.
With a long history and cultural landmarks such as Dahao Ancient City and Qingyunyan Scenic Area, Haojiang District blends the traditional culture of Chaoshan with the characteristics of the sea. The economy is dominated by fisheries, light industry and tourism, and is actively developing port-related industries and eco-tourism. The area is conveniently connected to the Pearl River Delta and southern Fujian through highways and the Shantou Bay Bridge.
As the core area of Shantou's "One Bay, Two Banks" plan, Haojiang is promoting the construction of Guang'ao Port and the development of the coastal economic belt, combining cultural heritage and modernization potential.
