Located in the western part of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hamm is one of the most important cities in the Ruhr industrial region, with a population of around 180,000 people. As a transportation hub, Hamm Central Station is a key node in the German rail network, connecting several main lines. Historically known for its coal and steel industries, the city has transformed itself into a center of a diversified economy encompassing machine building, chemicals and environmental technology. The city has a wealth of green spaces, such as the Hamm Forest (approx. 500 hectares) and several parks, and is an exponent of the "green city" concept. Culturally, the St. George's Church, the City Museum and the annual "Hamm Festival" demonstrate the city's historical heritage and dynamism. Educationally, the University of Applied Sciences in Hamm develops the region's technological talent, and the city is both livable and industrially rich.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
