Gaoming District is one of the five jurisdictions in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, located in the western wing of the Pearl River Delta, north of the Xijiang River, south of Xinxing, east of Nanhai, west of Gao Yao, with a total area of 960 square kilometers and a resident population of about 440,000 people. It has a pleasant subtropical monsoon climate with a forest coverage of 60.8%, and is the ecological barrier of the Pearl River Delta, the "National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zone" and the "Chinese Excellent Tourism City".
Gaoming has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Lingnan culture, with monuments such as Linggui Pagoda and Gaoming Academy, and one of the "Four Families of Lingnan" in the Ming Dynasty, Limin Yang, was born here. Economically, it has formed an industrial system dominated by textile, chemical, new materials and intelligent equipment manufacturing, while relying on its ecological advantages to develop modern agriculture and cultural and tourism industries. Scenic spots such as Soap Curtain Mountain (the highest peak in the Pearl River Delta), Lingyun Mountain, Taikang Mountain and so on attract a lot of tourists, and it is an important recreational and vacation destination for the Pearl River Delta metropolitan area.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
