The local economy relies mainly on agriculture and animal husbandry, with animal husbandry, wheat cultivation and fruit (e.g. apricots, walnuts) production, and in recent years, due to its special geographical location, it has also gradually become a transit point for border trade. As the capital of a remote region, Faizabad's infrastructure is still under development, but its unique natural landscape and ethnic flavor attract a small number of adventure tourists.
