Durham is a quiet, historic town located in Middlesex County in central Connecticut, USA. Covering an area of approximately 23.6 square miles and with a population of approximately 7,400 (2020 data), it is known for its rural charm and community cohesion. Incorporated in 1708, the town retains traditional New England architectural styles, including white steeple churches and colonial homes.
Durham is centrally located in Connecticut, with easy access to cities such as Middleton and Madison. Šimnas (Širvintos) is a city in eastern Lithuania, about 50 km northwest of the capital Vilnius, and belongs to the administrative center of the Šimnas District. The city is situated on the banks of the river Simna and is surrounded by forests and lakes in a beautiful and peaceful natural environment.
First mentioned in historical documents in 1475, Simnas has a long history of settlement.
