Introduction of Dounan Township, Taiwan, China

Dounan Township is located in the northern part of Yunlin County, Taiwan Province of China, and is an important agricultural and transportation hub in Yunlin County. It was formerly known as "Taliwu" and was renamed to its present name in 1920. The town covers an area of about 48 square kilometers and has a population of about 45,000 people.

Dounan has a predominantly agricultural economy, producing rice, sugar cane, vegetables and fruits, and has an important agricultural distribution market in Taiwan. In terms of transportation, the Taiwan Railway Longitudinal Line, National Highway No. 1 and Highway No. 3 all pass through the area, forming an important transportation node.

Famous local attractions include the Taliwu Cultural Park, the Dounan Railway Station (a century-old wooden station), and the Shiguixi Ecological Park. The annual Dounan Potato Festival is an important event that showcases the local characteristics.
