Dongchuan District is located in the northeastern part of China's Yunnan Province, under Kunming City, in the northern part of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, known for its unique red soil landscape and rich mineral resources. Covering an area of about 1,858 square kilometers and with a population of about 300,000, the district is a multi-ethnic settlement where Han, Yi, Hui and other ethnic groups live in harmony.
Dongchuan has magnificent natural scenery, such as the Red Land Scenic Area, which is known as "God's Palette" and attracts a large number of photographers and tourists. The climate is mild, with an average annual temperature of about 15°C, making it suitable for agriculture and tourism. The economy is based on mining, agriculture and tourism, and is rich in copper, which has historically been an important copper capital of China.
Conveniently connected to Kunming and beyond by road and rail, it is an important hub in northeastern Yunnan. Dongchuan's blend of natural wonders and cultural heritage makes it an ideal destination for exploring Yunnan's diversity.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services.
