Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger. The city is located in the lower Niger River basin around the climate of the tropical desert climate, hot and dry throughout the year, the average annual precipitation is less than 300 millimeters. The economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and the surrounding areas are rich in millet, sorghum and livestock. Diffa, as a regional trade center, undertakes the function of cross-border trade with neighboring countries, such as Nigeria, and is especially famous for the trade of livestock, agricultural products and handicrafts. The city is culturally diverse, with Hausa, Tuareg and Kanuri ethnic groups living in the area, and is unique in its crafts such as traditional leather weaving and silversmithing. Despite infrastructural challenges, Diffa remains an important economic and cultural node in the south-east of the Niger, thanks to its strategic location and rich cultural heritage.
Liujiang is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, located in the north central part of Guangxi. It is located in the lower reaches of the Liujiang River, hence its name. It is bordered by Luzhai County in the east, Laibin City in the south, Liucheng County in the west, and downtown Liuzhou City in the north. It has a total area of 2539 square kilometers and a population of about 540,000 people. It has a superior geographical position and convenient transportation, and is an important hub connecting Guizhong and Guibei.
Liujiang has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Zhuang culture, with rich ethnic traditions and folk activities. The economy is dominated by industry, focusing on the development of auto parts, machinery manufacturing and building materials industries, while agriculture is dominated by rice, sugar cane and fruit cultivation. In recent years, Liujiang has been actively integrated into the industrial system of Liuzhou City, becoming an important support point for regional economic growth.
Liujiang has beautiful natural scenery, with karst landforms and idyllic landscapes along the Liujiang River. Famous attractions include Baipeng Lotus Garden, Chengtuan Leisure Agriculture Zone and Ligao Qinghua Pear Base. The locality organizes annual lotus festival and other folk activities to attract a large number of tourists. With its unique landscape culture, idyllic experience and Zhuang ethnic flavor, Liujiang has become a popular destination for short-distance travel around Liuzhou.
