Dayi County is located in the western part of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China, in the transition zone from the Chengdu Plain to the Northwest Sichuan Plateau, about 50 kilometers away from Chengdu city. It has a subtropical humid monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and a favorable ecological environment. It has a total area of 1,284 square kilometers and a population of about 510,000 people.
Dayi has a rich historical and cultural heritage, the most famous of which are the World Heritage-listed "Dayi Liu's Manor" and the "Medicine Master Rock Cliff Statue" built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. The Xiling Snow Mountain, a national scenic spot, is located here, with rare snow and ice landscapes and virgin forests in southern China, making it an important eco-tourism destination around Chengdu. Anren Ancient Town has preserved a large number of buildings from the Republic of China period, and is known as "China's Museum Town".
Dayi's economy is dominated by tourism, modern agriculture and green industry. It is the hometown of kiwifruit in China, producing kiwifruit, tea and other agricultural products. In recent years, Dayi has been vigorously developing recreational and cultural industries, and has gradually formed the development positioning of "a park city under the snowy mountains", becoming an important node city on the Western Sichuan Tourism Loop.
Wuling is located in the northwestern part of China's Hunan Province and is the core area of Zhangjiajie City, known for the World Natural Heritage Wulingyuan Scenic Spot. This area, which covers the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Suoxiyu Nature Reserve, is listed as a UNESCO World Geopark for its unique quartz sandstone peak forest landscape. Thousands of rocky peaks rise up, surrounded by clouds and mist like a fairyland, and were the inspiration for the Hallelujah Mountains in the movie Avatar.
Wuling is not only blessed with magnificent natural landscapes, but also rich in the cultures of the Tujia, Miao and other ethnic minorities. The local traditional villages, folklore performances and specialties (such as Tujia bacon) demonstrate the deep humanistic heritage. As an eco-tourism destination, it offers hiking, photography and adventure activities, attracting millions of tourists annually, and is one of China's first 5A-level tourist attractions.
