Daoli District is a core municipal district of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, China, located on the south bank of the Songhua River, and is the political, economic and cultural center area of Harbin. With a total area of about 479 square kilometers and a population of about 900,000, the district is known for its rich European architectural style, ice and snow culture and historical sites.
Famous attractions include Central Avenue (Russian-style pedestrian street), St. Sophia's Church, the Flood Control Memorial Tower and the landscape strip along the Songhua River. With convenient transportation and hubs such as Harbin Station, Daoli District is a well-developed commercial area with a number of large shopping centers and traditional markets.
