Chong'an is the core district of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China, located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle. As the political, commercial and cultural center of Wuxi, Chong'an district covers an area of approximately 17.6 square kilometers and concentrates the city's busiest commercial districts (such as the Zhongshan Road shopping district) and landmark buildings. The area is home to the Donglin Academy, which bears witness to Wuxi's 1,000-year history, the Chong'an Temple Ruins Park, as well as cultural relics such as the Xiaolouxiang Historical and Cultural Neighborhood. Modern Chong'an blends the traditional Jiangnan water town style with urban landscape, and has a well-developed urban infrastructure and convenient rail transportation network, making it one of the most densely populated and economically vibrant areas in Wuxi.
