Chihshang is a tourist township located in the northern end of Taitung County, Taiwan, China, in the center of the Huadong Longitudinal Valley Plain, known throughout Taiwan as a high-quality rice producing area. With an altitude of about 260 meters above sea level, the climate is pleasant, with an average annual temperature of about 23℃. The famous Ikegami Bento culture originates from the tradition of railroad rice bags here.
Burang Avenue has become a famous landmark due to coffee advertisements, and a large number of tourists are attracted to the Takeshi Kaneshiro tree and the landscape of rice paddies on Paradise Road. The Daepo Pond is a natural lake ecological area where you can see wetland ecology and migratory birds. The Chihshang Rice Pavilion showcases the culture of rice farming, and the annual Fall Rice Paddy Art Festival creates large-scale rice paddy paintings.
Chihshang Station on the Taiwan Railway is an important transportation node, and specialties include Chihshang rice, bean skins, rice cakes, and other processed agricultural products. It is recommended to visit the idyllic countryside by bicycle. The best time to visit is during the period of golden rice ears in October-November and the period of bright green rice waves in April-May.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
