Carlisle, the county seat of Cumberland County, is located in south-central Pennsylvania, USA, just 30 minutes from the state capital, Harrisburg. Founded in 1751, the town is steeped in history and was an important military stronghold during the American Revolutionary War, with Carlisle Barracks being one of the oldest active military installations of the U.S. Army. Carlisle is also known for Dickinson College, a private liberal arts college founded in 1773 that has produced many outstanding individuals. Jajang (Korean: 부전, transcription: Bujon) is a county in South Hamgyong Province of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, located in the southern foothills of the Gae Ma Plateau in the Jajang Ridge mountain range region, and is named after its proximity to the famous Jajang Ridge. The area is characterized by mountainous terrain, rich forest resources and a continental monsoon climate with long, cold winters and short, cool summers. The local economy is based on forestry and a small amount of agriculture, growing hardy crops such as potatoes and corn, and the area is home to natural attractions such as Gojoseon Lake, which is one of the most important water sources in the DPRK. As a border area, Jajang-gun is strategically important, and the local population maintains a simple lifestyle based on traditional agriculture and forestry.
