Calejão is a town on the island of Santo Antão in Cape Verde, located on the northeastern coast of the island. As the administrative center of the municipality of Município Paulo, Caleo is known for its peaceful rural atmosphere and traditional Creole culture.
Caglio is located on a hilly volcanic island surrounded by terraced farmland and banana plantations. The climate is tropical and arid, with an average annual temperature of around 25°C and a rainy season concentrated between August and October. The town is located close to the black sandy coastline, with magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The town retains its colonial architecture and traditional music "morna" performances. The economy is based on agriculture, with bananas, sugar cane and other crops, but in recent years it has developed ecotourism. The annual St. Joan of Arc Festival in June attracts many tourists to experience folkloric activities.
From Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, you can take a flight to the island of Santo Antão and then drive there. The main attractions include the 17th-century church of Santo António, hiking trails around the area, and traditional handicraft markets, making it an ideal destination to experience the native culture of the West African island.
Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts. A blend of traditional Timacu culture and modern townscape, Samu offers a unique look at the interior of Timor-Leste.
