Bhaktapur (Nepali: भक्तपुर), also known as "Bhadgaon", is one of the three oldest cities in Nepal's Kathmandu Valley, located about 14 kilometers east of the capital, Kathmandu. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, superb craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage. The ancient city's Durbar Square brings together 55 temples and palaces, including the Palace of 55 Windows and the Nyatapola Tower, showcasing the pinnacle of classical Nepali art.
