Belagan District is located in the central part of Azerbaijan and is an important part of the Aran Economic Zone, with the city of Belagan as its capital. The region is bordered by the Kura River to the east, and the terrain is mainly plain, with a semi-arid climate and developed agriculture, famous for cotton, grain and fruit cultivation.
Belagan has a long history as part of the ancient Caucasian Albanian kingdom, and there are remains of medieval architecture in the district. The local culture is a blend of Azerbaijani traditions and Caucasian influences, with a wealth of crafts and folk festivals, such as the Harvest Festival and Nowruz celebrated annually.
The economy is dominated by agriculture and agro-processing, but in recent years there has been a gradual development of light industry and logistics. Conveniently located near the main Baku-Tbilisi highway and railroad lines and about 200 kilometers from the capital city of Baku, Belagan District is an important hub connecting the western part of Azerbaijan with the Caspian Sea coast.
Visitors can explore the district's historic mosques, nature reserves and scenery along the Kura River. With its diverse ecological resources, the Belagan region is suitable for eco-tourism and outdoor activities such as bird-watching and hiking, making it an ideal destination for experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of the Azerbaijani countryside.
Schellenberg is a historic municipality in the north of Liechtenstein and one of the smallest administrative regions in the country, situated on the gentle slopes of the Rhine Valley, close to the Swiss border. Although small, the town carries the story of Liechtenstein's origins - the ruins of the "Upper Liechtenstein" castle, which is a testament to the Liechtenstein family's acquisition of territories in the 13th century, and the remains of its medieval stone walls still attract history buffs to explore the town. The town of Schellenberg is characterized by its tranquil atmosphere. Schellenberg is known for its idyllic, rural atmosphere, where visitors can stroll along winding paths with views of the Alps and the Rhine, or explore the traditional wooden houses and family-owned breweries for a taste of Liechtenstein's slower pace of life. As an important node of Liechtenstein's "Culture Trail", traditional events such as the Medieval Market are held every year, allowing visitors to experience the richness of this miniature country in a relaxed atmosphere.
