Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.

Belene is a city in the Pleven Region of northern Bulgaria, located on the southern edge of the Danube Plain at the northern foothills of the Balkan Mountains, and is an important agricultural and transportation hub. The city has a long history, dating back to Roman times, with a multicultural mix of medieval churches and Ottoman monuments. The surrounding area is rich in black soil, wheat and sunflower crops, and has a well-developed food processing industry, especially dairy and meat processing.
