Baoding, a prefecture-level city in Hebei Province, is located in the northern part of the North China Plain, constituting a golden triangle with Beijing and Tianjin, and is known as the "Gateway to the Gorge" and the "Southern Gate of the Capital". Beidou Township is located in the southeastern part of Changhua County, Taiwan Province of China, and is an important historical town in the Changhua Plain. Formerly known as "Baodou", it was once one of the most important commercial distribution centers in central Taiwan during the Qing Dynasty, along with Lugang and Monga. The town has many century-old temples, including the Beidou Dienan Palace, which is a Grade III monument and retains its exquisite architectural craftsmanship. Beidou Township is located in the center of Changhua Plain, bordered by Tanzhong Township to the east and Pitou Township to the west, with a well-developed transportation network. It is connected to the Zhongshan Expressway and the Taiwan High Speed Railway via County Highways 150 and 152, and is about 20 minutes' drive from downtown Changhua. The tributaries of the Turbid Water Creek run through the territory, forming a fertile alluvial plain, and the main industries are agriculture and food processing.
Beidou Township retains a rich traditional cultural heritage and organizes a number of folklore events every year. The red-brick market complex presents the commercial architectural features of the Japanese colonial period, and the town office actively promotes the preservation of cultural assets. Tourists are advised to visit Beidou Old Street, Dienan Palace, and the Local Culture Hall, and to taste the authentic Beidou Pork Dumpling, Bowl Kuey Teow, and other specialty snacks.
