Baoding, a prefecture-level city in Hebei Province, is located in the northern part of the North China Plain, constituting a golden triangle with Beijing and Tianjin, and is known as the "Gateway to the Gorge" and the "Southern Gate of the Capital". Zhangping is located in the southwestern part of Fujian Province, China, under Longyan City, in the transition zone between the mountainous areas of western Fujian and the coast, and in the upper reaches of the northern stream of the Jiulong River. The city has a total area of about 2,975 square kilometers and a population of about 280,000, mainly Han Chinese, with the Hakka and Minnan cultures intermingling. Zhangping is famous for "the hometown of flowers and trees in China" and "the hometown of famous tea in China", and produces specialties such as Zhangping daffodil tea and azaleas, as well as rich resources for agriculture and eco-tourism.

Zhangping has convenient transportation, Yingxia Railway, Putongyang Expressway runs through the whole territory, connecting Xiamen, Longyan and other cities. In recent years, relying on green industry and rural tourism, the economy has been developing steadily, and it is an important ecological livable city in western Fujian.
