Located along a tributary of the Gonia River near the Senegalese border, Basse is an important city in the eastern part of the West African country of Gonia, and is the administrative and trade center of the eastern part of the country. As a key node connecting Gonia's interior with neighboring countries, Basse is known for its distribution of agricultural products, with peanuts, cotton, and grains abundant in the surrounding area, and a vibrant local market that attracts traders from around the region. The city is small but gradually improving its infrastructure, combining the vitality of a traditional bazaar with the beginnings of a modern town. Its savannah climate, with an average annual temperature of around 27°C, makes it an important window into the culture and economy of eastern Gonia, and one of the starting points for exploring the scenery along the Gonia River.
Located in west-central Burkina Faso, Da Village is one of the typical traditional villages in sub-Saharan Africa, belonging to the region of Boucle du Mouhoun. With a predominantly savannah climate, the inhabitants are mostly farmers, cultivating millet, maize and peanuts and leading a self-sufficient life. The village retains its traditional dome-domed mud huts and communal council chambers, and has a strong Mossi culture, with regular traditional dances and rituals, showcasing West Africa's original cultural charm. Though small, Da Village unites the simplicity and resilience of rural Burkina Faso, and is a window into local folklore and an excellent place to explore the traditional way of life in West Africa.
