About Atimè, Benin

Atimè is a small town in the Atlantique department of southern Benin, about 30 kilometers west of the capital, Porto Novo, in the southern plains of Benin, near coastal cities such as Ouidah. The region has a predominantly savannah climate, with agriculture as the mainstay, mainly growing cotton, maize, cassava and other crops, and local handicrafts are famous for traditional weaving and pottery making. Retaining some of the unique cultural traditions of southern Benin, Atieme regularly hosts traditional fairs and religious ceremonies to attract tourists from the surrounding area. As a microcosm of a West African rural community, Atieme is an important window into the culture of Benin's agrarian society as it showcases the daily life and folklore of the region.

Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
