Located in the southeastern part of Shaanxi Province in China, Ankang is situated in the Qinba Mountainous Region, with the Han River passing through the city, making it an important hub city connecting Shaanxi, Hubei and Sichuan Provinces. As the core water source of the National South-to-North Water Diversion Project, Ankang is famous for its high-quality ecological environment, with more than 65% of the area covered by forests, and is known as the "Pearl of Qinba".
The area is rich in history, culture and natural resources: scenic spots such as Yinghu Lake and Xiangxi Cave show the beauty of landscape, Ziyang tea culture has been passed down for thousands of years, and the Han opera and Dragon Boat Customs of Dragon Boat Festival have been listed as intangible cultural heritages.
