Tongaʻafa, usually referred to as Nukuʻalofa, the capital city of Tonga, is the political, economic and cultural center of the Pacific island nation of Tonga, located on the north coast of Tabu Island, Tonga. The city, with its natural harbor, is an important gateway for Tonga's foreign trade and has one of the highest concentrations of population in the country. Nuku'alofa is a blend of traditional Polynesian culture and modern urban style, with attractions such as the Royal Palace in the city center and the Tonga National Museum showcasing Tonga's historical heritage. Paramaribo is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Suriname, located on the Atlantic coast of northeastern South America, on the banks of the Suriname River. As the political, economic and cultural center of the country, the city is known for its unique colonial architecture and multicultural fusion. The Historic Inner City of Paramaribo, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002, retains Dutch colonial-style architecture from the 17th to 18th centuries, such as wooden-framed houses and wide streets.
