As an important part of the Accra metropolitan area, the area is known for its high population density and commercial vibrancy, with a number of local markets and community centers that are central to the daily lives and economic activities of its residents. Conveniently connected to Accra's major transportation arteries and surrounded by public services such as schools and medical institutions, Aburi is both residential and urban. Despite its predominantly modern urban appearance, the area has retained its indigenous Ghanaian cultural imprint, and the community's blend of traditional and modern elements is a microcosm of the Ghanaian city life experience.
