Zhongyang County is located in the western part of Shanxi Province, China, in the middle part of the Lvliang Mountain Range, and is part of Lvliang City. It has a total area of 1,441 square kilometers and a population of about 150,000 people. It has a temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons and rich mineral resources, especially coal. Its history can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period, and it is one of the birthplaces of Jin culture.
