Zhenjiang is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, China, located at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal cross golden waterway, and is an important member of the Nanjing Metropolitan Area and an important port city in the Yangtze River Delta. The city has a total area of 3,840 square kilometers and a resident population of about 3.21 million.
Zhenjiang is a national historical and cultural city with a history of more than 3,000 years, and legends such as the Legend of the White Snake and Liu Bei's invitations to marriage originated here. Famous scenic spots include Jinshan Temple, Jiao Shan Monument Forest, Beigu Mountain, Xijindu Ancient Street, etc. Jinshan Scenic Spot is a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The brewing technique of Zhenjiang balsamic vinegar is listed in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
Zhenjiang is an important node city of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and has formed industrial clusters of aerospace, new materials, equipment manufacturing and green chemicals. As the "Vinegar Capital of China", the annual output of Zhenjiang Balsamic Vinegar reaches 300,000 tons, accounting for more than 60% of the national vinegar export. 2022 GDP of the city reaches 501.7 billion yuan, and the per capita GDP ranks the forefront in Jiangsu Province.
Zhenjiang is only 60 kilometers away from Nanjing Lukou International Airport, there are 5 expressways such as Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and Yang-Li Expressway, Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway and Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway set up Zhenjiang Station, there are 259 kilometers of Yangtze River shoreline, and Zhenjiang Port is one of the Yangtze River's 100 million-ton ports.
