Zepu County is located in the southwestern part of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), belonging to the Kashgar region and situated on the western edge of the Tarim Basin. The county has a total area of about 999 square kilometers and a population of about 200,000, mainly Uyghurs and Han Chinese. Zephyr is named after the Persian word "Zelpushan", meaning "River of Gold", and is named after the Zephyr River, a tributary of the Yarkant River.
Zephyr is an important agricultural county in South Xinjiang, famous for cotton, jujube, walnut and other agricultural products, known as the "township of jujube". The Jinhuyang National Forest Park is a famous attraction in the area, with natural poplar forests and wetland landscapes. Zepu has convenient transportation, with National Highway 315 running through the city, about 200 kilometers away from Kashgar, and is an important node of the southern Silk Road. The local culture is a blend of Uyghur traditions and Central Plains characteristics, with a strong ethnic flavor.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
