Zagreb is the capital and largest city of Croatia, located in the northwestern part of the country on the banks of the Sava River and at the foot of the Medvednica Mountains. As a political, economic and cultural center, Zagreb has a population of nearly 800,000 and dates back to the 11th century, blending medieval architecture with modern urbanity.
The city is divided into an Upper Town and a Lower Town: the Upper Town is famous for its historical landmarks such as St. Mark's Church and the Lotščak Tower, while the Lower Town is home to the Central Square, museums, and shopping areas. Located in the northwestern part of China's Guizhou Province, Weining is an autonomous county under the jurisdiction of Bijie City, situated on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with an average altitude of about 2,200 meters and a predominantly plateau mountainous climate. As a multi-ethnic settlement, Weining is characterized by Yi, Hui and Miao cultures, with rich ethnic traditions and festivals.
Weining is home to the Caohai National Nature Reserve, one of the largest plateau freshwater lakes in China, known as the "Pearl of the Plateau", an important habitat for migratory birds and rich in biodiversity. The topography of the county is mountainous and the climate is cool, which is suitable for the cultivation of potato, buckwheat and other highland crops, and agriculture is one of the pillars of its economy.
Weining integrates multi-ethnic cultural heritages, such as the torch festival of the Yi ethnic group and the Lusheng dance of the Miao ethnic group.
