Located in the northwest of the New Territories, Yuen Long is one of the most important new towns in Hong Kong, with both historical heritage and modern vitality. It is known as the "Barn of Hong Kong", producing vegetables, fruits and flowers in abundance, and its specialties, such as Yuen Long wife cake and egg dumplings, are renowned throughout Hong Kong. A number of monuments have been preserved in the district, such as the Tang Ancestral Hall and the Star House on the Ping Shan Heritage Trail, which have witnessed the changes of Hong Kong over the past hundred years; and the Yuen Long Old Market, as a traditional bazaar, still retains the style of a market with mounted buildings and is full of marketplace atmosphere. In addition, green spaces such as Tin Shui Wai Wetland Park and Yuen Long Park provide residents with good places for leisure. Blending natural ecology, history and culture with modern cityscape, Yuen Long is a unique area to experience the diverse charms of Hong Kong.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
