Located in the northern part of Shanxi Province, China, Yuanping City is part of Xinzhou City and is situated in the transition zone between Taiyuan Basin and Datong Basin, with a total area of about 2,570 square kilometers. As an important energy and agricultural base in Shanxi, Yuanping is known for its coal industry, as well as its abundance of crops such as corn and millet.
