Located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province, China, Yuanling County is part of Huaihua City and is located in the middle reaches of the Yuan River, making it the largest county in Hunan Province in terms of area. The area has a long history, with human activities as early as the Neolithic Age, and the county was established in the Qin Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,200 years as a county. Yuanling is famous for its rich cultural heritage, such as the legend of the Hidden Book Cave in Mount Eryou and monuments such as the Longxing Lecture Temple.
