Yidu City is located in the southwestern part of Hubei Province, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, which is administered by Yichang City. It is known as "the throat of Chu and Shu" and "the door screen of the Three Gorges", and it is an important industrial and commercial hub in the south of West Hubei Province. With the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Qing River, the city has convenient land and water transportation and has important ports on the Yangtze River such as Yidu Port.
