Yanchi County is located in the eastern part of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, at the junction of Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Mongolia, and is known as the "East Gate of Ningxia". It is the famous "Hometown of Mudflat Sheep" in China, and the mudflat sheep it produces is nationally renowned for its tender meat and no stink, and is a National Geographical Indication product. Historically, Yanchi was an important post on the ancient Silk Road and a border fortress, with the Ming Great Wall ruins winding through, leaving behind rich cultural relics of the border. Nowadays, relying on grassland, desert and other ecological resources, Yanchi vigorously develops ecological animal husbandry and new energy industry, while realizing the transformation from "sand in and man out" to "green in and sand out" through sand prevention and sand control, which has become a model of ecological governance on the Loess Plateau. With the rich Hui ethnic flavor and unique scenery on the Plateau, it is an excellent place to experience the humanities and nature in Northwest China.
