Xupu County is located in the western part of Hunan Province in China, belonging to Huaihua City, and is situated at the intersection of Xuefeng Mountain Range and Wuling Mountain Range, and in the middle reaches of Yuan River. It has a total area of about 3,440 square kilometers and a population of about 900,000 people. As a thousand-year-old county with a long history, Xupu is one of the important birthplaces of Qu Yuan's culture, which is mentioned many times in "Chu Rhetoric - Nine Chapters".
Xupu is famous for its agricultural and ecological resources, producing citrus, rice and Chinese herbs. There are natural landscapes such as Simeng National Wetland Park and Huayao Terraces at the back of the mountain, while retaining the unique folk culture of the Huayao people. In terms of transportation, the Xiangqian Railway, Hukun High Speed Railway and many expressways run through the whole territory, connecting Changsha, Huaihua and other cities.
The county focuses on the development of ecotourism and specialty agriculture, with the Qu Yuan Cultural Festival and the Terrace Culture and Tourism Festival being important annual events. The economy is based on agriculture, and in recent years it has been actively promoting the processing of agricultural products and the rural tourism industry, making it a potential ecological economic county in western Hunan.
Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger. The city is located in the lower Niger River basin around the climate of the tropical desert climate, hot and dry throughout the year, the average annual precipitation is less than 300 millimeters. The economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and the surrounding areas are rich in millet, sorghum and livestock. Diffa, as a regional trade center, undertakes the function of cross-border trade with neighboring countries, such as Nigeria, and is especially famous for the trade of livestock, agricultural products and handicrafts. The city is culturally diverse, with Hausa, Tuareg and Kanuri ethnic groups living in the area, and is unique in its crafts such as traditional leather weaving and silversmithing. Despite infrastructural challenges, Diffa remains an important economic and cultural node in the south-east of the Niger, thanks to its strategic location and rich cultural heritage.
