Xishui County is located in the east of Hubei Province, on the north bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, belonging to Huanggang City, at the junction of Ezhou, Yuzhou and Anhui provinces, and has been the key point of the "Seven Provinces' Thoroughfare" since ancient times. With a total area of about 1970 square kilometers and a population of more than one million, the county is the hometown of Wen Yiduo, a famous poet and scholar, and is known as the "Cultural Hub of East Hubei".
