Xishui County is located in the east of Hubei Province, on the north bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, belonging to Huanggang City, at the junction of Ezhou, Yuzhou and Anhui provinces, and has been the key point of the "Seven Provinces' Thoroughfare" since ancient times.
