Xinrong District is part of Datong City, Shanxi Province, China, and is located in the northernmost part of Shanxi Province at the junction of Jin, Hebei and Mongolia provinces and districts, covering a total area of about 1,068 square kilometers. The district has a long history and is a zone where the culture of the Central Plains meets the nomadic culture of the north.
