Xinqing District is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province, the hinterland of the main veins of the Xiaoxinganling, belonging to Yichun City, is a typical state-owned forest area, known as the "hometown of the red pine" reputation. Here the forest coverage rate is as high as 95% or more, preserved in Asia's largest area of the original red pine forest ecosystem, the concentration of negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter of more than 50,000, known as the "natural oxygen bar". Tangwang River in the area through the territory, breeding a wealth of wildlife resources, northeastern tigers, sable, Chinese autumn sand ducks and other rare species thrive in this area. Relying on ecological advantages, Xinqing focuses on the development of forest recreation, forest economy (e.g., black fungus, blueberries) and eco-tourism.
