Xinghai County is located in the southeast of Qinghai Province, belonging to Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, located in the hinterland of Sanjiangyuan, the upper reaches of the Yellow River, with an average altitude of more than 3,200 meters, is an important node of the ecological barrier of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Gatuna, a key border town in northwestern Rwanda on the border with Uganda, located about 110 kilometers northwest of Kigali, is one of the key land crossings for trade within the East African Community (EAC).
