Xigu District is a major municipal district under the jurisdiction of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, China, located in the western suburb of Lanzhou City, with the Yellow River running through it. As an important industrial base and logistics hub of Lanzhou City, Xigu is known for its petrochemical, equipment manufacturing and energy industries, with large state-owned enterprises such as Lanzhou Petrochemical Company. With a total area of about 385 square kilometers and a population of about 400,000, the region has a temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons.
Xigu has a long history and has been an important node of the Silk Road since ancient times, with cultural landmarks such as the ruins of Xigu City in the Ming Dynasty. Its geographic location connects Gansu and Qinghai provinces, with a number of transportation arteries such as the Qinglan Expressway and Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway running through the whole territory, and is about 50 kilometers away from Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport, making the transportation convenient.
Xigu's economy is dominated by industry, with the output of chemical products ranking among the top in the country, while modern agriculture and tourism are developed, such as the sightseeing of the Yellow River Style Line and lily planting bases. The city has excellent public service facilities, with several primary and secondary schools and medical centers, and is a model area for modern industry-city integration in the western part of Lanzhou City.
Rubal is a quiet town in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, situated in the mountains at an altitude of about 1,200 meters, about 60 kilometers from the provincial capital of Peshawar, and known for its pleasant climate and deep Pashtun cultural heritage.
